Audacity Version 2.4.2 Windows 10 Pro build 19042 I imporanted an file it was a .flac don’t know the bitrate but I 100% know it was higher then 320kbps cut it by like 4 minutes exported it as .flac now its not only x2 the file size now seems to be 320kbps?
I don’t think that’s right. What makes you think the FLAC file is 320 kbps?
That’s probably due to “dither”. See: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/dither.html
You may want to temporarily disable dither (set it to “None”) if you are only trimming the file.
You can check the format and bitrate of your 'before" and “after” files with MediaInfoOnline.
EXPORTED NOW X2 FILE SIZE AND LOWER BITRATE!?
File size is determined* by the bitrate and playing time. kbps is kilo_bits_ per second. There are 8 bits in a byte so you can divide by 8 to get file size in kilo_bytes_ per second.

- Embedded artwork or other metadata adds to the file size without affecting the audio bitrate.
