Export to Wav macro changes extension, but file stays as Aiff

I am trying to use the “Export to Wav” macro to bulk convert some aiff files to Wav. I am using a Mac and Audacity 3.4.2

When I do this individually, I can do this fine. The file is changed to a wav. I am using a site called metadata2go to analyse this.

But when I try to use the macro (immediately after the individual operation so as to maintain the conversion settings), although the extension is changed to wav, when I analyse the files they are still aiffs - and thus cannot be used in my sampler.

Can someone help with how to do this please?
