Export to multi channel extem annoying - V3.7.4

Hi, i just upadeted to Audacity 3.7.4 and the export audio to multicannelwith custom papping is extrem annoying..

  • in previus versions i muted tracks and theses were not used in the multicannel output - now all track are uses per default in multicannel.
  • the using of custom mapping for multichannel is not userfriendly (no way to delete all mappings with one click)
  • the using of custom mapping for multichannel does not save the last mapping - on every export you have to start over in deleting all the mapping lines and make all new!

All in all - not usable anymore for multichannel exports!

I am trying to think about this from the programmer’s perspective.

Every time you run Audacity to edit audio, you could import a different number of tracks, so using the previous mapping could have bad results on the next. Better to wipe all the mappings out and force you to make them the way you want.

This is not a good idea - i cut something - export it try it somewhere else outside and then going back to the editor - if i have to remap ever time i want export the same project the program makes no sense for me… why change something which was working well for a very long time…nobody wants to have this kind of changes?!?

Sometimes I wish I could magically grant people’s wishes just so I could watch them make a mess and regret it.

It would be helping not to change a fine running system after a decade when nobody wants a change…:wink:
