Export audio playlist issue MAC OS Audacity 3

Something has changed in the Audio export serttings, as all of a sudden all the songs in the playlist are combined into one WAV file, and are scrambled when attempting to burn them to cd. Unable to locate any settings in preferences to separate them. Am a newbie with Audacity.

The “Export Multiple” option is now inside the “Export Audio” dialog.
See Exporting multiple audio files - Audacity Manual
and Splitting a recording into separate tracks | Audacity Support

What I usually do is select-highlight one song at a time (zooming-in as necessary) and then when exporting, select Current Selection to export one song at a time.

…Sometimes I’ll select-export a little extra and re-open the files later and trim the excess silence.

Hello, and thank you for the prompt response. That solved the issue. The problem was
a bad case of operator malfunction.

I have, however, now lost the audio input. Am copying a casette tape to use audacity to convert it to a wav file, make a playlist, then burn it to cd. This has been working fine up to now. Am taking the sound through a mixer, using the usb mic to the computer, but enable silent monitoring does nothing, even though usb mic is selected. ???

The export audio is resolved, thank you, but I now have no audio coming in. Get the following message when attempting to enable silent monitoring: Error opening recording device. Error code: -9997 invalid sample rate. Have changed input ports to no avail.

“USB mic”? That’s how your mixer appears in Audacity?

Let’s back up and make sure that audio is coming into the Mac.

Go to System Preferences, the Sound panel, then the Input panel. Select your USB input device from the list and start some audio playing. Does the input sound level meter bounce?

If that is working then make sure the Audacity has permission to use the “microphone”

If everything is OK up to now, start Audacity and try to record from the USB input device.

Followed your instructions, sound input was set for internal mic, changed it to usb, level meter bounces. Went back to Audacity, checked mic settings, set to usb, checked enable silent monitoring, still no sound. Was all working this morning.

Hardware configuration as follows: analog cassette in tape deck, sound outputs to mixer,
mixer outputs to digitnow usb audio capture device which then outputs to usb port on mac.

Update: Connected system to second older mac equipped with older version of audacity, made necessary settings, audacity shows audio input on level meters.

Problem resolved. Privacy setting in mac system settings had disabled audacity access to microphones. Thanks again for support.

Have 1 more issue to settle before calling it a day.
Audacity now takes up the entire screen, larger than the “full screen” setting. Can turn full screen on and off with just a slight difference.

Issue sorted, another case of operator malfunction. MANY thanks.
