Expander for Audacity?

I know this has been asked before here but it was a while back and things change.

What is the choice of expander for Audacity these days?
(I have a recording where my assistant turned on automatic level control and compressed the dynamic range–I hope to redeem some of it)

Thanks
Fritz

Chris Capel’s compressor, (made specifically for Audacity), works as an expander if you put in a negative-value for the compression-ratio.
There’s FloorFish VST plug-in, but that’s Windows only.

works as an expander if you put in a negative-value for the compression-ratio.

Writing that down.

Chris will sometimes damage the very end of a show (the look-ahead gets confused), so put some fake sound at the end to give Chris something to chew on. You can cut it off later.

Thanks Koz. I installed Chris and applied it to the areas where the hardware compression was most prevalent.
