Excuse my newbie question

Hi all and thanks for the help.

3 weeks Ago I used Audacity to edit audio from a youtube video and everything was fine.

But today every export is showing up as a text file, no matter what format I try it wont open in iTunes. I get info and it shows it’s a document.
This has to be simple or I need more ( or less) coffee.

Open the Audacity project(s) in Audacity, then export a copy of the project from Audacity in (as) WAV format …

The WAV (16-bit) version should be compatible with all audio software.

I tried every format multiple times. I must be doing something simple incorrectly.
