exchange of files between mac and windows

Hi,

I did not find anything on this topic of file / Song exchange between Mac and windows

Last week I sent an audacity project to a pupil of mine who is on windows

The pupil could not open the file.

Could it be that it did not work due to the fact that i used audacity 2.3.2 and he probably has 2.3.3

or is there a major issue concerning exchanging files between platforms ?

Mac OS Mojave 10.14.6

audacity 2.3.2

now 2.3.3

An Audacity Project is not a “file”, it’s a file plus a folder full of data. All the audio data is in the “_data” folder. The “.AUP” file contains instructions that tell Audacity how to put the data together to create the project.
