Hi newbie & I can’t find this answer even though it seems obvious. I use the solo button & despite unmuting all tracks about every other track is getting blacked out, even one I listened to earlier. What do I do & how to prevent this? it was fine yesterday
The “blacked out” tracks have no content. Any content that was in those tracks has been deleted.
If you haven’t closed the project you should be able to get that content back by using Undo repeatedly.

i had a feeling… but it’s been fine for days. is there a setting i could change to prevent it? i saw one for “detect drop off0 but i don’t think that’s what this is. i guess i’ll have to start saving things lol. it just seemed weird that it was every other track, or some recordings started black during playback & then picked up way after i had actually recorded. thanks for the reply 
There is a setting under Preferences > Tracks Behaviors: “Select all audio, if selection required”. It is unchecked by default. If this is checked it is easy to delete all if you’re not careful. However, given that the entire project wasn’t deleted, this probably isn’t the culprit.
