Error When Creating Additional Tracks

Audacity 3.1.3 Windows 11 64-Bit

I am able to create a brand new track and record fine. However, if I go and add an additional track, I get an error I try to record.

If using Windows DirectSound as the Audio Host, I get the following error when I try and record - Error code recording device. Error code: 0 success

If using MME as the Audio Host, I do not get an error, however nothing records.

This could happen if you are trying to record stereo on a mono track, for example.

Have you tried switching MME and DirectSound to WASAPI ?

Thank you for your help.

Yes, when I used WASAPI I got a different error: Error code recording device. Error code: -9997 Invalid sample rate

Updated:

Figured out that I had to go into Windows sound settings and change the frequency setting for Line in both Input/Output. They were using two different frequencies and not matching to what I had set in Audacity.
