I use Windows 7 and I have the latest version of Audacity 2.0.3.
When I try to record, I get an error msg that says “Error While opening sound device. Please Check input device settings and project sample rate.”
I also have a MIDI keyboard connected to my computer, as I use Sibelius, the music-writing software.
Since I have not used Audacity in a long time, I’m hoping that someone can help me.
Thanks in advance.
Mimi

What are you trying to record from? What “sound device” are you trying to open? (Audacity doesn’t work with MIDI.)
I want to record my keyboard, and/or my voice or another instrument.

I have a MIDI keyboard, too. Actually, two of them. Sound does not travel down the MIDI connection. That’s strictly for the piano key control and usually nothing else.
I do it by connecting a cable between the headphone jack on the keyboard to my computer and then run Audacity to record the show.
That’s how I did these two clips.

Rather than write about all possible combinations, which kind of computer do you have? Windows laptop? Do you have sound connections that look like this?
