error message when recording from tape and exporting in .wav

I am trying to compile a music CD for in car use. I have used Audacity to take music from cd’s and have used Audacity to transfer music from tape cassettes via a Sharps CD / tape player. All of the files play on my computer individually. When I try to put them on to a CD using Infra recorder I get the following error message "inappropriate audio coding’/cydrive/c/documents/ administrator…’

Interrogating the files it appears that all of the recordings from the tapes are the culprits. They were all saved as .wav format. What can I do to resolve this.
I am using Windows XP

It’s always dangerous when Windows people assure us that a file is in WAV format because it’s pretty difficult to determine that. You might tell Windows to show you file extensions and that may help a lot. You may discover that myMusic.wav is really myMusic.wav.m4a and is really an MPEG sound file or a Windows Media file which is what’s causing the problems.

Hidden File Extensions
– Start > My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > View > [ ] Hide Extensions for Known File Types (deselect)
– Apply (to this folder) or Apply to All Folders
– OK
