Error Latency Correction setting [SOLVED]

Audacity has been working great for years and was working today.

  1. Will not record stays on pause.

  2. Error: "Latency Correction etting has caused the recorded audio to be hidden before zero. Audacity has brought it back to start at zero.
you may have to use the TIME Shift Tool (<-------> or F5) to drag the track to the right place.

  3. Pause locks on when trying to record.

Win 7
v.2.1.3

Windows 7 is no longer officially supported, and neither is Audacity 2.1.3.
The current version of Audacity is 2.4.2 - while Windows 7 is not officially supported, users have reported that it works.
Audacity 2.4.2 is available via the Audacity website: Audacity ® | Download for Windows

That sounds like you have accidentally enabled “Sound Activated Recording”. I don’t recall exactly where that setting is in 2.1.3, but it’s probably somewhere in the Transport menu. When you find it, turn it off.

Issue resolved.

Sound Activated recording was ON under Transport menu.

thank you so much
