Ergonomics Question RE Effects Drop-down

Version 2.0.3 on Win 7 (runs great, plug-ins working great, etc. etc.) Been through several pages of threads and the FAQ & thought I’d just ask this.

I was just wondering if there is a way to get a VST plug-in (e.g., Kjaerhus Master Limiter) to display higher up in the Effects drop-down. As said, everything’s working; it’s just that when doing some final tweaking I do quite a bit of moving between the standard Amplify and this limiter. It’s just alot of scrolling; it would be nice if someone knew if it’s possible to move that function higher-up in the drop-down. (An alternative would be (if it’s possible) to assign a given effect a function button on a toolbar or hot-key, possibly as an update down the road.)

Thanks all, again, just an ergonomics thing, nothing earth-shattering. Was just pondering in the “someone has probably skinned this cat before” kinda way.

The current version of Audacity is 2.1.0 which you can get here: http://web.audacityteam.org/download/windows

In 2.1.0 you can group effects by “type” so that all VST effects are grouped together (see: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/effects_preferences.html)
You can also assign keyboard shortcuts to effects (see: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/keyboard_preferences.html)

Well, I guess I didn’t nug that out as well as I should have after all.
Thanks Steve; the keyboard short-cut thing works.
