Good day,
I am using Audacity for 3 months now and had no issues. Everything was fine until today.
After finishing my record, I wanted to apply my usual effects and noticed, that equalize is not there. So I tried things out and noticed, that it is deactivated.
Long story short: As soon as I click activate and ok it does not activate.
Sadly though I need this function.
I could not find any related topic from this time period.
Does anyone has any idea why it does not activate? I have the latest version, nothing changed (it worked 4 days ago as usual) and other settings/effects do get activated/deactivated manually. Just equalize not.
Which version of Audacity?
In the latest version 2.3.3 we replaced the Equalization effect with graphic EQ and Filter Curve.

Thank you for your prompt answer. Yes I have 2.3.3 Version. I did yesterday a scan on my PC and maybe it was updated automatically.
Well, this would explain it… Can I step to a version back, where I can use it like I am used to it? I just tried it and this does not help/suit me at all. Maybe without losing my recordings?
The two new effects are basically the same as the old Equalization effect (which had a fair few bugs by the way). We basically split the effect in two and fixed the bugs. In particular the two parts of the old Equalization the curves and the sliders didn’t play nicely together.
The one thing missing was the ability to import curves - this has been fixed for the upcoming 2.4.0
