Many times when I open a recording on the software, all the Effects (excepting “Phaser”, “Wahwah” and “SC4”) are disabled (they are light grey and cannot be clicked). Some basic buttons like cut and trim are also disabled. I do not understand why this happens sometimes, but other times they work just fine.
I am trying to edit a WAV file (voice recording) and am using Audacity 2.1.2 (downloaded using the ZIP file since I do not have admin access to install software). I am using Windows 8 system.
