Effect applied to multiple clips

Please help,

When I apply an effect to one selected clip it then automatically merges with some neighbouring clips and applies the effect. How do I fix this? I only want to apply the effect to the selected clip. Funnily enough it doesn’t do it with things like amplify. But with noise reduction and EQ effects.

This is a known bug Applying Nyquist effect to a clip merges the clip with adjacent clips · Issue #11144 · audacity/audacity · GitHub

It applies only to Nyquist effect.

There’s a pull request for a fix but it apparently didn’t make it into 4.0.1.
