Hello Audacity World,
I have been editing the heck out of recorded convo’s for release as pods.
Taking out unwanted bits, clicks, repeats, stutters, errrrrms etc. all the usual dross.
After a while I’ve got ok-ish at removing stuff without it sounding artificial but I want to take the next steps on the learning curve now. As I may be doing some more…
At the moment I zoom in to the offending bit - choose a start and fin of a section to delete or alter (matching up with breaths etc ) delete or alter it - listen - then UNDO and adjust if necessary - and repeat till happy.
My Qu : Is there a way to “preview” play the sound file as if the selected section for deletion/alteration has already been altered/deleted - to avoid having to go through the UNDO step each time I adjust - cutting out the undo step ?
(would it be called non-contiguous play or something? )
I imagine one would have to set a start and finish for the preview “window” (so I can hear the altered bit in “context” to be sure it sounds ok - so maybe a few secs b4 and after the altered bit …
Or should I be using an different DAW or learn some programming … ?
Any help gratefully recieved - hopefully I’ve missed something completely obvs
Cheers All.
Rob
