Editing metadata causes crash

Prior to posting this I have re-installed from scratch the latest version of Audacity from the site and rebooted my up-to-date Windows 10 system.

I’ve been using Audacity for several years. I have it on 2 computers. It still works fine on one. The other has just started crashing every time the edit metadata screen is invoked (either directly from edit>metadata or by exporting an mp3 with the display edit metadata screen option enabled).

Something happened on the one system which causes a hang of Audacity when trying to edit metadata. I even deleted the Audacity directory before one of the re-installs. Before I stop using this one computer (or go to the trouble of reinstalling Windows 10) I thought I’d ask the experts. Anything come to mind? THANKS!!

OK, so you have already deleted the directory: C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Audacity.

So the next thing to try is deleting C:\Program Files (x86)\Audacity

Also, take a look at https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/portable_audacity.html

Could it be something from the file you are importing ?
