Editing gaps im recordings

I am in the process of digitising my collection of vinyl and have a fairly basic question:

After recording an LP side, I have a file containing the various tracks, with gaps between each as normal for an LP. Obviously any clicks or noises during the inter-track gaps are particularly noticeable, so I was wondering if there was a straightforward way to highlight the ‘gap’ (which may have clicks etc.) and replace the selected area with complete silence.

I have experimented with the editor, but all I have been able to do is to delete the gaps, which I do not want to do. I just want the gaps to be silent, as intended.

Any advice?

After selecting a gap you can silence it with CTRL+L

Brilliant! Many thanks!
