Editing dictation

I am dictating some theatrical text into Audacity 2.2.1 on Mint 19.1.

I regularly go back and clip out bits of hesitancy or badly expressed items.

My problem is how to insert new bits to replace the badly expressed items.

Record them to a new track and edit them into the places that you need them.
