Editing Concert Audio

Hi all,

I’m pretty new to Audacity and trying to learn the ropes a bit. I’ve done some searching around here on the forum but wasn’t really able to find a topic addressing my specific situation.

Recently I recorded (audio only) a concert that I attended. I’m actually really pleased with the way it turned out; the vocals are clear and audible but the bass proves to be a large problem.

I’ve uploaded a sample song from the show:

I understand there is no quick fix to make the audio sound like a million bucks, I’m just looking for a few ways to clean it up a bit and improve it. As I said, I love how clear the vocals are…just if there was a way to reduce the bass/thumps, that would be awesome!

Thanks so much!
Brent

I can make it sound like $4.37.

Here’s a clip before and after…

And here’s how to set the graphic equalizer tool in Audacity 1.3 to do it yourself.

Did you talk to that other poster that probably went to the same concert and had the same problems? I’ll see if I can find the post.
