Edit Speed of a Recording

Audacity 2.3.0 on Windows 7.

I’m recording from a tape to Audacity using a Tape recorder with a USB connector, and it seems like that this specific tape was recorded with the wrong speed and in order to listen to it properly I need to reduce the “play at speed bar” to .50.

How can I fix the recording to permanently have it saved with the corrected speed so I can listen to it in any media player without needing to adjust the speed?

Thanks for your help
This a great software, marvelous.

Apply the “Change Speed” effect: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/change_speed.html
Then Export your modified track.

Thank you for your quick response. I was looking for the answer but wasn’t able to find it.

Thank again for all your help
