Duplicate updates

Friends: I’m running Audacity 2.0.6-Alpha-Mar 13 2014 installed on Ubuntu
12.04 LTS. Every few days I get two Audacity LP-PPA updates (one 2.4mb, and one 2.8mb)
that appear to be the same each time. I install them, and a few days
later they arrive again. This is the detail for the latest:

For the 2.4mb
Installed version: 2.0.5+svn20140313+r8282+29+29+29~ubuntu12.04.1
Available version: 2.0.5+svn20140325+r8290+29+29+29~ubuntu12.04.1

For the 2.8mb
Installed version: 2.0.5+svn20140313+r8282+29+29+29~ubuntu12.04.1
Available version: 2.0.5+svn20140325+r8290+29+29+29~ubuntu12.04.1

I’m not very ‘terminal’ savvy, but hope someone can point me in the direction to stop what appear to be unnecessary updates.

Thanks.
IJ

If you added this PPA repository (https://launchpad.net/~audacity-team/+archive/daily) to your sources list, comment it out.
That PPA repository contains daily builds from audacity’s subversion repository. It is generally recommended to use the official repository version rather than a PPA version.

If you want to go back to the current official Ubuntu release version, completely uninstall Audacity, then delete or comment out the PPA repository from your sources, then update the package list and finally install Audacity again (from the official Ubuntu repository).

OK. I think I understand. I loaded Audacity with an automatic download. I didn’t affirmatively add any PPA, and don’t know where the sources list is to have done it on purpose. But I’ll try to follow your instructions and locate the list.

Thanks much.
