Dual voice recording

Hi there EVERYONE!
I,m a virgin (regarding using audacity that is lol).I would like to make my own affirmation recording with added music.
However I would like a primary voice (in the front) and a secondary voice in the background (both my own voice)
at different volumes. Secondary voice quieter than the primary. Does anyone out there know how I would be able to accomplish this? Make the instructions simple please ( I am a virgin at this lol)

In Audacity preferences tick “Overdub”, but don’t tick “Software Playthrough” …

Record your first vocal then record the backup vocal as a second track.

You can then adjust the volume levels of the lead and backup vocals independently as they are on seperate tracks.

NB: unless you’ve corrected for latency the tracks will be a little bit out of sync …

Alternatively use the “time shift” tool on one of the vocal tracks so they are in sync …
