Dropping audio to existing tracks

Hi,

is it possible to drag&drop audio from Windows Explorer to an existing track, without creation of a new track?

Thanks for answer,
Lauri

No.
So as to support multi-track use, dropping a file into an open Audacity window will create a new track.

If you want to paste it into an existing track, select the new track (double click on the waveform), cut it (Ctrl+X), click on the existing track at the point where you want to insert it and then paste (Ctrl+V).

If you just want to replace a track, drag the file into the Audacity project and delete the track that you don’t want by clicking on the [X] in the top left corner of the track.

You can also import files from “File menu > Import > Audio”
