Hi
I am using a Mac with version OS X EI Capitan Version 10.11.4 and using Audacity 2.1.2.
After updating to the latest version of Audacity I have found that I can no longer drag and drop into Audacity. Is anyone else having this problem? If so is there a fix?
What are you dragging and dropping? If you updated from a very early version of Audacity, it’s possible you need to also update your FFMpeg add-on software.
It’s a bug in Audacity 2.1.2. It’s been fixed in the development code, so the fix will be in the next release. You should still be able to drag files to the Audacity icon in /Applications or in the Dock, or import the file from the Audacity File menu.
Audacity 2.1.1 is still available, but of course if you use that then you miss out on features and bug fixes that are new in 2.1.2.

Glad to know this. I’ve been chasing everything in my preferences, updating FFMpeg files, etc.
What’s the timeframe on the next build likely to be? This is a real crimp in my workflow since I pull a lot of music files in when I make podcasts. Way bigger deal than whatever the last .1 iteration changes were.
There are “nightly builds” quite frequently (though not every night). See: Missing features - Audacity Support
Please note the disclaimer from the website:
For advanced users, Nightly Builds are available for testing purposes. These are alpha builds from latest development code. Your help in testing and reporting bugs in these builds is invaluable. Note: These builds will definitely be less reliable than official releases. They should not be used as your production version of Audacity.
