Doubled track lengths when burning

I’m having a problem with some particular mp3s I’m trying to burn. I have to burn them as audio CDs so they can be played in my car. However, when Nero converts a track (they’re all around 47 minutes each), it doubles the length of the track. So the track length is listed as 94 minutes instead of 47, and therefore more than the CD is allowed.

Clicking the properties says that there are two channels. I tried using Audacity to save them as mono instead of stereo, but that didn’t work. Is there something else I can do?

Here’s the mp3 info, if that helps:

MPEG-2 layer 3
128kbit, approx. 79116 frames
16000Hz Joint Stereo

Thank you!

Yes - when you Export from Audacity, use the following format instead of mp3:
WAV (Microsoft PCM) 44.1 kHz 16 bit

This is the format that audio CD’s use, so Nero will not have to convert them.

It worked! Seems so simple and obvious this way. Thank you very much!
