Does Audacity see my Solo interface?

I am using audacity 2.1.1 on Windows

I installed the driver for FocusRite Solo . I the application i set the record to
Analogue 1 + 2 (Focusrite Usb A 2 (Stereo) Recording Channels so Audacity seems to see the new device. But when i hit the record button, the cursor skips to after the track in the project and doesnt seem to be recording from the guitar jack in the front of the unit.

How can I get Audacity to record over the track in the project in a new track ?

You might have to set-up/configure the interface with the Focusrite Control software.

If you plug headphones into the interface the “Direct monitoring” switch allows you to monitor without going through the computer. That will help to make-sure you are getting a signal into the interface. And the LEDs on the interface should light-up, indicating that you are getting a signal from the guitar or microphone.

You can also try Windows Listen To This Device which should play through your computer speakers (or headphones plugged-into your computer) without running Audacity or any application. You can use that to make sure Windows is getting a signal.

The Focusrite also comes with Ableton Live Lite, which is an “alternative” to Audacity.
