my old hp has just been formatted because the cubase drivers left it without sound (they overwritten the windows ones). Do you think the same thing can happen to me with audacity? Thanks
No, Audacity doesn’t touch your drivers.
I don’t know why Cubase would do that either. Drivers are hardware-specific, but installing a new interface and it’s drivers (if it has custom drivers)doesn’t usually overwrite any existing drivers. The new ones are usually just added.
On Windows it’s possible to rollback drivers to the previous version,
