Does 2.3.3 lock up on you?

Running Ubuntu 19.04 LTS, Audacity 2.3.3. I installed this directly from Ubuntu’s software store.

Problem. Virtually 18 seconds into any recording and it stops recording. Program doesn’t lock up. Just before it does stop recording, there is a bit of what sounds like static, then it stops. Every time, between 15 to 18 seconds in. Hoping there is some help out there. Thanks.

I don’t know if it’s coincidence or an indication of where the problem lies, but Audacity store the audio data in blocks of around 1MB, which is about 6 seconds (default settings), so after 18 seconds it will be trying to write the third data block to disk.

Look in “Edit menu > Preferences > Directories”,
where does it say the temp directory is?
How much free space does it say the temp directory has?
