do not see wave graph on Audacity screen

I’m trying to record the audio from a YouTube video but do not see the sinewave graph on the Audacity screen as the audio is playing.
These are my settings:

  1. WINDOWS WASAPI
  2. SPEAKERS (as verified by my Windows panel) next to (1)
  3. I press record
  4. I start my YouTube video

Shouldn’t I be seeing the sinewave graph moving along on the Audacity screen as the video plays?
Instead, I see the x-axis just moving along as time passes showing zero amplitude.
Not surprisingly, my speakers are silent so obviously Audacity cannot find them.
What to do?

Recording your own computer sound is a little tricky.
