Do not hear playback

I just recalled Audacity 2.3.2 on a pc laptop. I cannot hear the playback. I hear other sound such as youtube. What am I missing? I see the waveform after recording. Have looked at settings for mic and speakers. HELP

You should select your regular speakesr or headphones or whatever you are using as your [u]Playback Device[/u]. For example, if you’ve connected a USB microphone or USB turntable you can select the USB device as your Recording Device but NOT your Playback Device.
