Hello, All
I am using Audacity V 2.0.2, downloaded as a zip file, on my Windows XP Serv Pack 3 32 bit computer. Everything works just great, and all the options under the various headings (Analyze, Effects, and so forth) are perfectly understandable - old hat, if you will. I’m very well grounded in analog audio systems, but I have yet to figure out something which is no doubt very elemental to Audacity users.
I have pored over the manual, the tutorials, and I may be too close to the issue in trying to figure out how to solve the following.
The issue is (by way of an example) this: I wish to record an LP into Audacity. The each side of the record contains musical selections
(individual vocals, instrumentals, etc). Recording the record into Audacity goes without a hitch. But, the entire side is now a single track, and when burned to a CD, of course plays as a singled, undivided track. What I have yet to figure out is how to establish a dividing point between the individual selections on the LP so that they are playable as individual pieces (with an appropriate length of silence between them), and then burn the result onto a CD. The aim is to get the CD to play just as the original LP would play, and to be able to select individual tracks on the CD for listening.
Any help for this “digital C- comic-book reader” would be appreciated!
Thanks for your help!
