Difficulty saving and exporting files

I am completely stressed out. I am trying to create audio book from my published book. I finished Chapter 1 today - file is about 1 hour and 40 minutes. I can access it to do further editing, but I get error messages saying “not saved properly” and “cloud storage not adequate” which is strange because I have tons of space on Pcloud and just purchased Audio.com cloud storage which was supposed to fix the problem. Audacity also is not letting me export as an mp3. I am on a deadline. Have scheduled time at isolated location to continue recording beginning next Wednesday, but I don’t want to go if there’s a chance all the work I’ve done so far is wasted. HELP!

If you are saving an AUP3 project file, it should be saved locally. it can be copied to-and-from a cloud or network drive but ONLY the local file should be opened or saved directly in Audacity. And of course you should keep backups of anything critical…

And it’s always a good idea to make a WAV or FLAC file whether you make an AUP3 project or not. Regular audio files are “simpler” and more robust than project-database files.

Can you export as WAV?

Go to Edit → Preferences → Modules and make sure mod-mp3 (and everything else) is enabled. We’ve been occasionally seeing those settings change randomly.
