Difficulty recording full volume with ext. audio interface

Hi all,

Long time user of Audacity first time poster.

I’ve recently purchased a Presonus Audiobox i2 audio interface for podcasting purposes.

My current setup is the audio interface connected to my computed with an AT-2020 mic connected to the interface.

My issue is that when recording on my Windows 7 PC, the volume maxes at -6 db and then starts to distort.

This issue does not occur on my mac (with the interface) or on the windows pc (when not using an interface a.k.a a directly plugged in audio-jack mic)

Any help is much appreciated regards,

Matt

Maybe this will help - How can I prevent a half-volume mono recording?.

The recording level in the Windows Sound Control Panel may be set too low.
