I had installed Amplitube so I could record guitar via my Focusrite 2i2 to my computer. The results through the Amplitube app sound pretty good! But when I try to use the Amplitube plugin through Audacity, whether I use Realtime Effects or use the Effects windows for post-processing, the results sound totally different (and far inferior to the Amplitube app itself). Is there something I am doing wrong? Did I set up something differently on Audacity as opposed to the Amplitube app? I checked the amp preset, and they are the exact same ones.
Audio sample below to see if anyone else has encountered a similar issue.
Please let me know if there are more details that I could provide that could help me figure this out!
The first sample is amplitube app, exported. The second is audacity, with the amplitube plug-in.
UPDATE: It seems Audacity’s audio levels appear a lot lower to Amplitube in-app than it does when directly recording. Turning up the input levels on the amplitube profile solved the problem.
UPDATE UPDATE: Nevermind, that did not fix it. It still sounds quite different from the direct recordings off of Amplitube.
