Default directory task for converting all mp3 found

Being new here I do my best to describe what needs to be done.

We can use macros to select a directory and then manually select the files there to convert successfully to a destination.

But what we would like to do is tell Audacity to select the files found in the directory as they all need to be converted rather than manually selecting them so that we can create a windows task or at least run the macros that automatically selecting all the files found in that directory for conversion.

Thank you for your time.

I’ve never used macros… (I’m rarely doing the exact same thing multiple times.)

If you just want to convert files without editing try Kabuu Audio Converter or TAudioConverter. With either of these, you just set-up the desired output format and output folder, then you can drag-in a folder or multiple files and click.

To select all files in a directory:

 1. Click on the first file in the directory.
 2. Press Ctrl+Shift+End
 3. Click Enter

Ill check out the two converters, hopefully, they have some kind of automation. I was using FFmpeg for this but need to resolve a few windows issues to resume. Until then I was looking for alternatives to carry us over.

Thank you.
