Debug report when creating new chain

Windows 7 Professional 64-bit SP1
Audacity 2.1.1

I am creating a new chain. I Add Normalise (default) and then Compressor (default) without any problems.
When I select Equalisation and click “Edit Paramters” I get the attached bug error report - which I have submitted, and then Audacity closes down on me.

Can anyone suggest what I might be doing wrong or is this a general bug with Audacity and I cannot use Equalisation in my chains until this is fixed?

Thanks for writing.

To submit the Debug Report you would have to actually attach the zip file that is produced.

We did discover this problem after 2.1.1 was released and it is now believed fixed, so should be fixed in the next 2.1.2 release of Audacity.

It’s a bug but not a “general bug”. It’s a bug in the Equalization effect. it should be fixed in the next Audacity release.
If you really must have the Equalization effect in a chain and can’t wait for Audacity 2.1.2 to be released, you could use Audacity 2.1.0.

A workaround to use EQ in a Chain in 2.1.1 would be to use Save/Manage Curves… in the Equalization effect to save the curve you want to use as a named curve.

Then change “Equalization:CurveName” in the file for your Chain at Users<your user name>\AppData\Roaming\Audacity\Chains to the required curve name.

If you cannot see the required “Audacity” folder, type

%appdata%

into a Windows Explorer address bar.

Any idea when 2.1.2 will be released?

End September or early October according to current ideas.
