Hiya
I’m new here and been using Audacity for about a year with no issues. I’m on a MAC ElCapitan 10.11.6 and using Audacity 2.4.2
Over the last few months I’ve been getting a debug report pop up when importing MP3 into a new project then trying to replay the track. I can only hard shut down my MAC as the spinning ball doesn’t disappear. I’ve tried reinstalling Audacity completely, upgrading the version and deleting the lock screen folder from the session data file. I noticed on another forum question that the project rate is set by default at 44100 - my track is set at 32000. I can change it but don’t know why its set at that?
Hopefully you can help me as it’s proving very frustrating to keep hard resetting my MAC when trying to edit my podcast and stitch my MP3 files together.
Thanks for your help Sarah
There is a known bug in Audacity 2.4.2 on macOS concerning sample rates of 32000. This has been fixed for the next Audacity release, but until then the workaround is to use other sample rates (such as 44100), and Resample tracks when necessary to avoid sample rates of 32000.
