cut preview not working

Hi,

I read from the manual that I could listen to what a clip would sound without a selection before deleting it by pressing c. It tried it but it didn’t work. What’s wrong?

Thanks, but please don’t forget to tell us what version of Audacity you are using (all three numbers, see the pink panel at the top of the page).

C for Cut Preview works in the latest Audacity 2.1.2 from http://audacityteam.org/download/mac.

If you are using 2.1.1, you have to record something first time in a new project window so as to enable the special playback commands like Cut Preview. You can remove the recorded track afterwards.
