I have been using Audacity for several weeks and it worked perfectly. It stopped working suddenly today. I want to record from the speakers (I don’t have Stereo Mix) as I have been recording all this time.
Audacity Settings:
Windows WASAPI
Playback Device - Speakers
Recording Device - Speakers
Preferences>Recording>Audio to Buffer - 100 milliseconds
Quality>Sample Rate - 48000 Hz
Computer Sound Settings:
Playback - speakers
Recording - Shows only Microphone (Checked “Show Disabled Devices” and “Show Disconnected Devices”), not plugged in (I want to record internally from the speakers as I have been).
So far, I have uninstalled and reinstalled Audacity, updated my audio device drivers, rebooted the computer twice. Nothing changes the Recording devices in Computer Sound Settings. How can I get this to get working again? Thanks!!
WASAPI loopback usually works best with 44100 Hz project rate bottom left of Audacity, and in Windows Sound, right-click over the playback device > Properties, “Advanced” tab, uncheck both Exclusive Mode boxes and set Default Format to a 44100 Hz choice.
The first time you record, make sure you play the stream before pressing Record.
