Need some help, every so often audacity crashes on me when i press the stop recording button. What i need to know can i import the au files that it creates while recording to create a complete recording? Hope this makes sense?
Please check which version of Audacity you are using. (Look in the “Help menu > About Audacity”).
If you are not using Audacity 2.0.5, please update. You can get the current version (free) from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/
Thanks, yes i have done the update this week. Now need to know if i can compile a recording with the au files.
If you are trying to reopen a project that was properly saved (no crash), open the AUP file and leave the AU files alone.
If you still have a 1.2 version of Audacity that crashed before you saved a recording, and then launch 1.2, it will ask if you want to delete temporary files. You should say “No”. To piece together the AU files from the 1.2 recording, use the 1.2 Recovery Utility, rather than import the AU files into 2.0.5. Please see Missing features - Audacity Support .
