I have never had the issue before of when importing FLAC tracks I get a crash back to desktop about midway through. I thought it might be because of a bad data file but now I can’t even import old FLAC tracks that I had previously imported no problem. The weird thing is I was able to import one of the two tracks I need for editing once but now I can’t even get that to happen again. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, I am at a loss of why this happens please help! Thank you!
I’ve heard of problems when a FLAC has ID3 tags (which is the wrong metadata format for FLAC) but that wasn’t on Audacity.
Are you able to import other file types, for example “WAV” files?
Which version of Audacity are you using?
I am using 2.4.1 and things seem to be okay now. I don’t know if the issue will persist but I’ll see if I can close this forum post. I have no idea what I did other than restart my pc several times.
I did not try to import WAV files but I may try in the future if necessary.
Were the FLAC files on a removable drive?
