Audacity 3.0.2 windows 10 frequent Buzzing sound
I was trying to record a track from internet, I am getting the buzzing sound about 1.48 seconds of recording till 2.1 seconds and this repeats 2-3 times in the entire recordings length about 6.5 minutes. attaching a sample of the issue. it will be great if someone can help me on this.
Also kindly note that i am recording it through Yamaha MG10XU mixer.
The buzzing is appearing towards 1.48 minutes to 2.3 minutes and 5.5 minutes to 6.3 minutes every time when recorded.
The buzzing disappears when the region is selected and played back and re appears if the entire recording is played from the beginning.
Please update if anyone else also facing the similar issue.
Topic split as this appears to be a slightly different issue from the original topic.
So do you mean that the crackling occurs in all recordings, regardless of what you are recording from?
How were you recording from the Internet? Were you using “WASAPI loopback”?
How is your Yamaha MG10XU mixer connected to the computer? Via USB?
I assume that is not the case with the sample that you posted in your first post. I assume that crackles every time you play it. Is that correct?
Do you mean that if you import a track that you knows plays correctly in your usual media player, it crackles after a few minutes when you play it in Audacity?
Thank you, I mean I was trying to record a Karaoke track from internet using Yamaha MG 10XU, I am getting 98% of the track recorded perfectly unfortunately 2-3 places for few mil seconds the buzzing sound comes in. Kindly check the attachment. thank you.
Hi,
How were you recording from the Internet? Were you using “WASAPI loopback”? No
How is your Yamaha MG10XU mixer connected to the computer? Via USB? Yes it is connect with USB
I assume that crackles every time you play it. Is that correct? yes that portion.
In the entire recording of 6.7 minutes I am getting the crackling sound only 2 places first one between 1.5 minutes - 2.3 minutes second one is between 5.5 min - 6.2 min this is static in all the attempt i have made to record the track.
Try increasing the “Buffer length” a bit (say, 150 ms) and see if that improves it.
(The default is 100)

To eliminate possible issues with the internet, have you tried first recording to Audacity using WASAPI loopback, then using Audacity overdub? see:
Tutorial - Recording Computer Playback on Windows and Tutorial - Multi-track Overdubbing. -
It is possible that there is a sample rate (data speed) mis-match between audacity and windows and the mixer. The Audacity rate is in the lower left-hand corner. The Windows rate is not so obvious. In the Windows search bar, type “mmsys.cpl”, then select Recording Tab > MG10XU USB mixer > Properties > Advanced > Default Rate. Repeat for the Playback tab. All of these rates should be the same. If they are all 44,100Hz, then try setting them all to 48,000Hz.

Have you tried downloading the Yamaha USB driver for this mixer? From the Yamaha MG10XUF manual:
For inputs and outputs to/from the computer, you may need a dedicated USB driver. Check and download the driver at the following Yamaha web site and install it to the computer before use. The cable should be no more than 3 meters long. > MG Series - Yamaha
However, note that this driver may include support for ASIO and the released version of Audacity does NOT support ASIO.
