I’m having the same problem using 2.1.2 on my MacBook in OSX 10.11.6. I’ve been having it almost every time I use the app and create a project, all day today. I’d like to save multiple editing projects for later.
I do have FileVault. I also have Microsoft Word open.
I wish I could say that I don’t know what that has to do with anything. Does that have anything to do with anything?
I started a new topic for you. It is too hard to deal with multiple people in the same topic on different systems and using different versions of Audacity.
Then try changing the project save directory to your own Music folder. It should not be necessary to avoid a folder that is open in other applications, but you can investigate that. Is that a known issue with Word, cyrano?
There are two restrictions when typing the file name for the saved project. Don’t use colon, because the Mac reserves that character. Don’t use backslash ( \ ) due to an Audacity bug.
Not AFAIK, but audio can be an issue with a Mac with a Fusion disk, especially using FileVault. Usually, the problem surfaces while recording, but writing out a wav is like recording too.
And having Word open won’t help, presumably, but it’s easy enough to test, isn’t it?
