Corrupted playback IF WASAPI is turned on.

I recently got the Windows 10 Ver 21H1 Build 19043.1081.

All of a sudden when I try to playback any recording made I first have to switch from ‘WASAPI’ to Windows Direct, otherwise, I get a metallic noise in the audio and can’t make out what is going on. It is more than just feedback. I never had this problem prior to this update and am trying to find out what else I may have changed.

I did do a BIOS update but that does not have any Audio settings in it. ASUS ROG STRIX Z490e gaming Mo/Bo EVGA NU Audio card and Have made sure that All of the settings in “Sonic Studio” are turned "OFF’

From the Windows search bar (by the magnifying glass), run “mmsys.cpl”. Select the Playback tab, , then Properties. Scrutinize each of these panels. Also, you may need to install a different driver.
