Converted from Windows 10 to Windows 11, that is when the problem started

I have used version 3.0.2 for over 6 years with no issue in digitizing vinyl into mp3 files and also with the occasional copying of a streamed 70s and 80s music broadcast for playback later. This was until I made the decision to convert from Windows 10 to Windows 11 in my Dell desktop at the repeated behest of MS, something I now wish I had not done. Currently as I have music playing on my computer, I click the Microphone bar to start monitoring and there is no activity in the bar. I have also tried clicking Record with the music playing and there is nothing coming through, nothing being recorded. The format for Audacity was unchanged from what I used before: MME for audio host, Line (USB AUDIO CODEC) for microphone and Speakers/Headphones (Realtec(R) for speakers. Trust me, when the issue began, I tried every combination of host, microphone and speakers to no avail. In Audacity’s Recording Preferences I have the boxes checked for Play other tracks while recording (overdub), Software playthrough of in input and Detect dropouts. And under Microsoft’s Privacy & security settings for Microphone I have Microphone access toggled on, Let apps access your microphone toggled on and Let desktop apps access your microphone also toggled on. Curiously, in the last one, I see in Recent activity that Audacity Cross-Platform Sound Editor been accessed many times which corresponds to my attempts to Monitor and Record. I did delete the Audacity 3.0.2 and download it again early on in hopes that would take care of the problem. No success. So I am at a loss of what to try. Has anyone had this happen and found the resolution? I am in hopes that it is a simple fix, I just do not know where to find it. My suspicion, of course, is that it is on the Windows 11 side.

And that’s what you’re still using? It should be OK but I believe the setup/interface has changed so it might be hard to help.

What are you trying to record from now?

Is that where is the music coming from?
Are you listening to a USB turntable, or a USB interface?
