Constant Error Message 9986 Internal PortAudio Error when pressing 'record'

Hello there,

I’ve tried looking this up here and even though some people have experienced it, there appears to be no solution. I’m using a Yeti mic and Sennheiser earphones on a MacBook Pro. I’m updated with both MacBook and Audacity to the latest updates. I’ve even tried deleting Audacity and re-installing it. Nothing works. I can record, but if I leave it for too long, it crashes.
I would really appreciate some help.
