Config question

I’m trying to use USB Phono Plus to digitize content from a cassette, and everything seems to be config’d properly, except I can’t get the content into Audacity. USB Phono Plus has a signal, the Mac System settings are set to use the USB Audio Codec and also show the incoming signal, and Audacity is set to use the USB Audio Codec as well, under both the Recording and Playback Device settings. I just don’t see anything in Audacity however, when I play the cassette. No levels of any kind, no evidence of an incoming signal. Any suggestions? Thanks everyone, for your help.

I’m a Windows guy but check your Privacy/Security Settings (for the USB device, not the microphone).

And in case you don’t know this, check the recording volume slider which is now “hidden” under the recording meters.

I’ll give those things a try; thank you so much!

It was a bit different on the Mac, but those tips put me on the right path (needed to give Audacity access to the microphone, in Apple Preferences/Privacy). That sounds a bit odd, but it probably has to do with how the Mac is hooked up to a neighboring audio receiver. Thanks again!
