I have two files that I have downloaded for work, I do not have the original recordings or audacity projects. They are both .aup files and will upload as a project into Audacity 2.0.3 if I import them using their raw data files. When I export these files as an mp3 or m4a or wav format they only play a 3 second beep. I need to be able to play these files on multiple devices through a shared drive as either mp3 m4a or wav. What can I do to ensure I get the actual audio and not a beep?
If you play the file directly in Audacity, do you get more than 3 seconds?
…If the full-length program shows-up and Audacity and plays, I don’t have a clue why you wouldn’t be able to export it.
Do you mean that you import the AU files from the _data folder for those projects? Those AU files assume 44100 Hz project rate. If the project rate was something else, you will have to use the Track Drop-Down Menu > Set Rate and choose the correct rate for the project, or the audio will be too fast or slow.
What happens if you simply open the AUP file? Look in File > Recent Files to do that.
